On Sunday, 11th April 2021, I had the absolute privilege of talking to the lovely Kate from UK charity WAY Widowed & Young at the Instagram Live Series ‘TALK aWAY with Kate’. I spoke about my experience of being widowed suddenly at the age of 34 with two kids under 4 (nearly 12 yrs ago), writing children’s books to help bereaved families, and living and loving again after loss.
WAY Widowed & Young is the only national charity in the UK for people aged 50 or under when their partner died. It’s a peer-to-peer support group operating with a network of volunteers who have been bereaved at a young age themselves, so they understand exactly what other members are going through.
I became a member in late 2009, and the support from ‘The Club Nobody Wants to Join’ has been invaluable.
